Revitalizing Detox Medley – Put yourself back on track

Important Note: This preparation is –
a. Oil Free
b. No-added sugar [all-natural sugar as present in fruits]
c. Dairy Free [yoghurt is optional, as an accompaniment]
d. Egg Free
e. Meat Free
I. INGREDIENTS
Fruits:
1. Fresh Green Apple (1 big – full – cut into medium sized dices) [rich in antioxidants, flavonoids and polyphenol, reduced risk of colon cancer]
2. Fresh Red Apple (2 big – full – cut into medium sized dices) [we all know from our childhood the famous saying - “An apple a day keeps doctor away”]
3. Fresh blueberries (1 big bowl – full – as it is) [reduces the bad cholesterol and increases heart health]
4. Avocado (1 big – full – cut into medium sized dices) [lots of potassium, lowers cholesterol and triglycerides level]
Herbs:Fresh Peppermint Herb (5 to 6 twigs – all leaves, stacked and rolled together then shred) [cooling and calming agent, increases secretion of bile flow for healthy digestion]
Seeds/Nuts/Dry fruits:
1. Walnut (5 to 6 pieces - hand broken) [supports weight control, rich source of Omega-3]
2. Almonds (7 to 8 pieces – cut into 2 to 3 pieces each) [good source of Vitamin E, prevents cardiovascular diseases]
3. Dried Apricots (6 to 7 – as it is) [catalyses breakdown of fatty acids]
4. Dried Cranberries (2 teaspoon – as it is) [rich source of Vitamin A & C]
Condiments:Salt (add to taste – iodised – low sodium) [provides rehydration and muscle movement]
Spices:
1. Cinnamon powder (1 teaspoon) [lowers blood sugar and reduces risk of heart diseases]
2. Nutmeg powder (half of a teaspoon) [detoxifier, improves kidney health ]
Accompaniment: Fresh yoghurt in a small, separate bowl (consider taking low fat or zero fat yoghurt) [good for bone health and improves digestion]
II. METHOD
1. Put all the cut fruits (green apple, red apple, blueberries, avocado) in a big mixing bowl
2. Add walnuts, almonds and dried apricots into it and give it a gentle mix
3. Gradually sprinkle some salt, nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder and lightly mix
4. Sprinkle peppermint onto the dish
III. RELISH
